11 - 01 - 2013 Snyder Co. road reopens in Jackson Twp. after 2 month detour
PennDOT in Snyder County today has opened the new bridge on Salem Road in Jackson Township after having a detour that had been in place since early September. Crews replaced the old bridge with a new concrete box culvert on the same alignment, and then rebuilt the roadway approaches and installed curbing. Guiderail will be installed tentatively next week. That work phase will be done under daylight closures, with the bridge reopened at night. Then, any further remaining work will be done under lane restrictions.
