11 - 13 - 2013 Snyder Co. business offers reward for stolen steer
[DI] - A $500 reward is being offered by the owners of N.S. Troutman and Sons for information that leads to the return of a likely stolen 1,200-pound steer. Isaac Hassinger said he believes the red Limousin beef cow was stolen between 9:30 p.m. Nov. 5 and 5 a.m. Nov. 6 from a locked barn just hours after it was delivered to the Middleburg company. Another animal placed in the same locked pen was found a day later in a fenced pasture about one-half mile away after searchers followed its tracks. Hassinger is certain someone stole the steer because it hasnât turned up in a week, and he hopes someone has information that will lead to the animalâs return or a conviction. State police at Selinsgrove hadnât received any tips or information about the steerâs whereabouts as of Monday.
