11 - 14 - 2013 Incomplete left turn results in pedestrian death yesterday
Lewistown State Police responded to a fatal crash just before 2pm yesterday along US 22/522 South in Wayne Twp., Mifflin Co. Police say that 74-y/o pedestrian named Kenneth Landis of Petersburg died in that crash that occurred when a vehicle driven by 54-y/o Donald Cramer of Lewistown was westbound & attempted a left turn into a business. Cramer realized that he was not going to be able to make the turn & stopped his vehicle into the lane of travel of an opposing vehicle in the eastbound lane that was driven by 89-y/o Robert Baker of McVeytown. Baker swerved to avoid colliding with Cramer's vehicle, traveling onto the shoulder, & striking Landis who was walking along the eastbound side of the roadway. Police are continuing their investigation into this crash.
