11 - 25 - 2013 Low-income Juniata Co. families treated with Thanksgiving meal
[LS] - Juniata Co. Kiwanians joined the Juniata County Food Pantry over the weekend to serve some 300 familes Thanksgiving turkesy with all the trimmings. Registered county residents came to the Central Juniata EMS building on Rt. 35 some time prior to the 10am start of the event to receive a plastic bag filled with stuffing and cake mix or pie filling at one of the ambulance bays. They were then directed to some rows of canned fruit, vegetables and potatoes. As they left through the door, a turkey was provided to each of the families...and even helped some of them carry the food to their vehicles. The Juniata and East Juniata high schools' Key Clubs and Boy Scout troops were on hand to assist with the event.
