12 - 03 - 2013 Midd-West superintendent search draws 3 search firms
[DI] - There were 3 executive search firms competing for the chance to recruit the next Midd-West School District superintendent that made their pitches to the school board last night. Representatives of the Chester County Intermediate Unit, of Downingtown, Ray and Associates, of Cedar Rapids, IA, and the PA School Boards Association, of Mechanicsburg, all said they have similar approaches to the job. The 3 groups specialize in educational recruiting in general and searching for school superintendents in particular. The Chester Co. IU & PSBA stressed their local and regional strengths. Ray and Associates is considered a national recruiting powerhouse, with more than 160 associates throughout the country scouting for talent. In all 3 cases, the groups outlined a step-by-step process whereby the recruiting phases would narrow down the best candidates for the Midd-West superintendentâs job, recently vacated by Wesley Knapp.
