12 - 16 - 2013 M/J United Way achieves 40% of campaign goal
The Mifflin/Juniata United Way reported its lasted update that the agency has raised $240,230 or 40% of the $600,000 goal for their 2014 campaign. The United Way works hard to fund programs and initiatives that can change the course of someoneâs life for the better. These efforts touch the lives of thousands of men, women and children in every part of our community. Among some of the United Way partner agencies are the American Red Cross, Abuse Network, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Delauter Youth Center, Juniata County Library, Juniata Valley Council of the Boy Scouts, Juniata Valley YMCA, Mifflin County Library, Mifflin-Juniata Special Needs Center, Shelter Services/Coalition of HOPES and Community Partnerships RC&D. Initiatives that are managed by the United Way staff include Money In Your Pocket income tax assistance program, Mifflin-Juniata Energy Bank and Day of Caring, and others.
