12 - 23 - 2013 M-J United Way approaches half-way mark in campaign goal
[LS] - As we approach the end of the year, the campaign for the United Way of Mifflin-Juniata has reached 48% as the organization seeks to raise $600,000 before March 15 of next year. Since the campaign began on Sept. 18, about $288,000 has been collected from donations. One of the agencies that benefits from working with the United Way is the Mifflin County Library which the resource coordinator, Roxie Garrett, said that the library "shines as an agency committed to educating the next generation". She added that the United Way helps fund Story Time, a program designed for three different age groups, from infancy to kindergarten. These groups meet for six weeks each season to enjoy reading, songs, playtime and crafts. There's still time to make a year-end contribution to the United Way.
