01 - 06 - 2014 Penns Valley shows off new multipurpose building tomorrow
[CDT] - Penns Valley school district officials are ready to show off the high schoolâs new addition. An open house is set for tomorrow to give parents and other community members a glimpse of the new $2.8 million multipurpose facility at the Penns Valley Area High School. The facility was constructed as an addition to the high school and resulted in a new multipurpose room, trainerâs room and sport officialsâ room. The addition was part of a larger project to renovate the schoolâs aging locker rooms, which officials said hadnât been upgraded since the facility was built in the 1960s and were in need of repair. The Penns Valley school board voted over the summer to move ahead with the locker room renovations and decided to include an addition for the multipurpose facility in the project. The district dipped into reserve funds to complete the work without raising taxes or borrowing money.
