01 - 28 - 2014 Senate passes measure to name J.-Co. river bridge
Legislation to name the new “river bridge” in Juniata Co., the Juniata County Veterans Memorial Bridge, passed unanimously out of Senate, according to the bill’s prime sponsor, Senator Jake Corman. Senate Bill 1186 now moves on to the House of Representatives for consideration. Senator Corman and Representative Adam Harris introduced companion legislation in the Senate and House of Representatives to name the new bridge, which recently opened. “Any chance we can get to honor the brave men and women who served in the Armed Forces for our country is an opportunity I am going to jump at,” said Corman. “I am very happy to be able to join with Representative Harris and honor the valiant and heroic service of Juniata County’s veterans.”
