02 - 13 - 2014 Another winter storm disrupts school, travel, in Juniata Valley
[DI] - The winter storm that brought heavy ice and snow to the interior South arrived in the Juniata Valley late last night and early today, dumping 3 to 10 inches of snow across the region. The same storm that disrupted flights at the major airports is disrupting school in Central PA counties before Valentineâs Day. Even though the storm will move much faster through the Northeast, when compared to the South, it will bring as much as 3 to 6 inches to our area, including most of Snyder and Union counties. Lewistown Public Works Dept. issued a statement this morning advising motorists within the borough to keep vehicles off the streets & in driveways so crews can get out to plow & salt roads & parking lots. They also remind residents not to plow or snow-blow onto the streets of Lewistown, as stated in the local ordinance. Crews will be working around the clock to remove all of the snow.
