Today Penn State University is expected to make an announcement that has surprised Florida State. Barron, however, still isnât sure when his last day at Florida State University will be. Barronâs departure from Florida State will be up to that universityâs trustees, according to an interview with the Tallahassee Democrat. News of Barronâs pending exit came without warning Friday afternoon. It was first reported on a Penn State student blog and spread quickly from PA to Tallahassee, where Florida Stateâs leadership team was taken by surprise. The 62-y/o Barron has enjoyed widespread respect and admiration at Florida State where, under his leadership, Florida State has been ranked the most efficient university in the country the past 2 years and it has steadily moved up in the national rankings.
