02 - 20 - 2014 School districts wrestle over using available snow days
[LS] - It's been since last December that Juniata Valley school students have gone a full week to classes without interruption. The winter weather has got school districts now wrestling with what to do with the remaining days to use for their requirements versus how many vacation days to grab to make it work. Mifflin County School District Superintendent James Estep said his administration is on the phone by 4:30am gathering information from the weather service, trasportation officials, & public safety on what to do. Estep told the Lewistown Sentinel that the district will "go to as many possible sources as we can in order to try to make the best decisions". Juniata County School superintendent, Richard Musselman, said he sometimes personally drives around to analyze the current road conditions.
