02 - 20 - 2014 Accused Penns Valley Athletic Director fired by school board
[CDT] - The Penns Valley Area school board fired its longtime athletic director yesterday, rejecting the resignation of Donald Hosterman in the wake of charges he stole money from sporting events. The motion was on the agenda to accept Hostermanâs resignation, effective Feb. 11. Board members pulled the motion from the slate, opting to terminate him instead. According to the criminal complaint filed Tuesday, the 68-y/o Hosterman is charged with misdemeanor counts of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Penns Valley is not the only organization with which Hosterman has longstanding ties. Centre County Grange Fair General Manager Darlene Confer confirmed Wednesday that he is still a committee member, but does not know if that will change.
