02 - 28 - 2014 Commissioners questioned over CYS salary payments
[LS] - Mifflin Co. Commissioners were questioned over a salary issue pertaining to a CYS employee last night. During the monthly business meeting, Children & Youth Director Mackenzie Seiler had her compensation duties questioned by several concerned residents in what, to them, appeared to her getting double pay for her work. The commissioners, reacting to a letter to the editor in yesterday's Lewistown Sentinel, clarified that Seilers covered the duties of an in-home supervisor and an assistant administrator during their vacancies & was paid with budgeted money. However the commissioners added that the county saved over $35,800 in salary expeneses during the 6 months Seilers covered the positions.
