03 - 12 - 2014 JMS Principal to retire after serving for 3 years
[LS] - After a 3-year term at the help of the Juniata Mennonite School, Tom Getz will be retiring from his position of administrator/principal. Getz told the Lewistown Sentinel that his goal has been to build the school up from within & after 3 years, the school has realized some of those upgrades. Now, parents have online access to their childrens' grades & homework through the RenWeb system, are alerted to delays & closings through a new alert system, and students get to work using upgraded computers. Getz also said the curriculum is in the process of being upgraded as well. Getz credited the school's teachers saying "They have a beautiful blend of professionalism and Christian-world view. They have accepted extra training."
