03 - 18 - 2014 Reedsville VFD damaged in roof collapse yesterday
[LS] - A tanker & rescue unit of the Reedsville Fire Company are out of service today as a result of a roof collapse yesterday afternoon. The collapse happened as the rescue vehicles were pulling out in response to a fire. Company Lt. Matt Yohn told the Lewistown Sentinel that he believed the engine, "went over the grate in front of the door, the compartment door came up and hit the front beam, which caused the ripple effect of the whole collapse." No one was injured in the collapse & there hasn't been an estimate of the damage costs until the insurance adjuster comes today. The company was in plans to relocate next to the Brown Township Municipal Building but Yohn said this incident will have no effect on the timing of that move.
