03 - 20 - 2014 Lane restrictions start today on US 22/522
Lane-width restrictions begins today as work to repair and rehabilitate seven structures on US 22/322 in the Lewistown area continues. The work zone stretches from the US 522 interchange to the Business US 22 interchange, east of Lewistown. Lane restrictions are in place eastbound and westbound through this area and will have a width restriction of ten feet. Work will span two construction seasons but once complete, PennDOT will be able to shorten its list of structurally deficient bridges in Mifflin County. Through early April, crews will be performing preliminary work building crossovers in the area. Those crossovers are expected to be in use around April 3. The traffic crossover this year is expected to last until late August. After that, work will continue under daylight lane restrictions and signage through October. A westbound permanent message board is also a part of the project.
