03 - 24 - 2014 MCRP to begin aggressive driving enforcement activities
Mifflin Co. Regional Police announced in a statement over the weekend that they would be participating in aggressive driving enforcement activities as part of the PA Aggressive Driving Enforcement Project. The 1st wave begins today through May 4th & will target US 322 & US 522 in Derry & Brown Townships. They join over 330 other municipal police agancies & the PA State Police in trying to reduce the number of aggressive driving-related crashes & deaths on 435 roadways throughout PA. Last year, over 116,000 aggressive-related citations were written, which included over 55,700 just for speeding alone. The enforcement is funded by PennDOT & the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
