04 - 10 - 2014 Former Lewistown woman makes donation to Terrace fire victims
[CDT] - A former Lewistown native living in Centre Co. is reaching out to the victims of the tragic fire that impacted over 25 families in Juniata Terrace. Since April 1st, Ashley McClenahan, a member of the Miles Township Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, spearheaded a donation drive collecting enough donations to fill a fire engine, two pickup trucks and a small moving hatch. About a half dozen volunteers loaded the items into the vehicles from the Miles Township Fire Companyâs garage on Tuesday night & then dropped off at Brooklyn Fire Company, where items were to be distributed to those displaced by the fire. McClenahan once called Lewistown her home but has lived in Rebersburg since 2011, when she married her husband, Rob, who is a volunteer fireman. McClenahan said of the drive. âI saw how dramatic the fire was and saw the response of people on Facebook, and came up with an idea that I knew could work.â
