04 - 17 - 2014 Kish Bank, Belleville, robbed -- police make quick arrests
Just before 1pm Wednesday, Mifflin Co. Regional Police police responded to the Kish Bank in Belleville for a reported bank robbery in progress. Officers responded immediately and requested assistance from surrounding agencies to assist in looking for the described suspect who had fled the bank. The subject, discovered to be 28-y/o Neftaly Santiago-Gonzalez, of Lewistown, had entered the bank wearing a mask and clothing covering entire body omit his eyes, and brandishing a knife. Surveillance imagery and the victim provided information that assisted in the investigation. Investigation led to police contacting Santiago-Gonzalez at his residence in Lewistown and to the clothing that had been worn during the robbery. The money taken during the robbery was found on him and was verified as having come from the bank by bank records. Santiago-Gonzalez was taken into custody without incident and incarcerated in MCCF in lieu of bail with charges filed through MDJ Gingrich's office. MCRPD officers were assisted by PSP Lewistown, PSP Huntingdon, Granville Twp PD, Lewistown Borough PD, Armagh Twp PD, and multiple civilian witnesses. The officers of the MCRPD are grateful for all of the assistance in closing this case without anyone being injured and in an extremely quick manner.
