[FOX43] - The 150 workers at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital, who have been in negotiations with the new Geisinger Hospital management over a new contract since January, have turned down managementâs contract offer. They also declared a one day unfair labor practice strike for May 6th. The workers include service and maintenance, unit secretaries and sterile technicians. Teresa Williams, a sterile processing tech, told Fox43 that, âNobody wants to go on strike,â said Teresa Williams, sterile processing tech. âBut sometimes you have to stand up for whatâs right." Geisingerâs contract offer include cuts to starting salaries and elimination of secure retirement to workers who make $13 per hour.
